Time to hibernate

First Baby Steps, then I went into Nesting Mode.  And now? I'm ready to Hibernate.  I want to bake and plan Thanksgiving & Black Friday, drink hot cocoa and dream about stocking stuffers.  I'm ready for winter.  It's the tail end of BigDaddy's season and I'm gearing up for the final sigh in a few weeks or so.  Then we totally crawl into fetal position, get sick and stay inside under blankets.

But I've also lost my writing MoJo.  Seasonal food isn't so fun to talk about now, I'm not fired up about my Victory Garden (it's looking very sad and I need to winterize ASAP) and I canned a whole three jars worth of tomatoes.  I still feel like I need to figure out my way in the day.   And my on-line time is pretty limited when I'm falling asleep with BigBoy at 8:00, exhausted from being a volleyball widow/sick kid caregiver/ school volunteer.  Seems like insomnia =  lots of writing time. go figure.

I need to simplify.  Scale back. Focus on the family and get back to basics.  One thing I can cut back on is this little slice of blogosphere.  Not that I'm writing much anyway- other than a handful of half-written posts that I've yet to publish. I'm left with yet another thing dangling on my To-Do list and then feeling behind that I haven't posted. So it's time to hibernate for the winter.  Close up shop for the season and hang up my blogger hat.

Come Springtime, I promise to have lots of MoJo from the cocoa.

Ohhh noooo! :( Don't leave us! Well, if you have to take a sabbatical, ok. But don't miss out on those moments with the kids that you just HAVE to journal and share with us.

I kind of get what you're saying though. I feel like I've lost my MoJo too. Gotta stick with it though. It's about discipline!

So, confusing message aside... try to keep up the writing when you can and set a writing schedule for yourself, like maybe once a week? Call it "mommy time" and make BigDaddy take the kids. I bet you won't be sorry you did!

Ah, come on, don't go! We're gonna miss you too much. You never know when the writing bug might strike, so keep that window cracked open just a little bit, okay? Writing bugs like cocoa too!

Though I do understand about feeling pressured & like something is hanging over your head. If that's how you're feeling, it's good to just let it go.

I totally get it, at times it feels that I have so much to write, but lately.. yeah, kinda blank. But if you're going to hibernation mode, can we omit the "get sick" part of the winter -- that's no fun, and something tells me that if you had a choice, you'd choose writing over get sick any day. In the meantime, when you're ready to share your holiday recipes, I'll be here waiting for you!!!

Absolutely, don't stop. This is a great outlet for you and all of your readers. Just write when the mood strikes rather than a schedule that you feel you must adhere to. I will miss you through the winter as we in LA have no winter and I need you for seasons and pictures.

You guys are so sweet. This is what I need to do right now. It feels good not to have writing be a Must Do. I'll be back soon. Promise! ;) As for recipes, they will still be on FB-- most of you are there. Photos will be sent via email and FB.

Aw man! I enjoyed reading your blog. As long as you continue to share the recipes and pics via FB! Just as you are taking a sabbatical, I'm trying to write/blog more often so check back for updates!

Once it becomes a "must do" more then a "like to do" then I think it's time to do what you are doing. Walk away... who know's you may find inspiration to post between now and spring. If so AWESOME! If not then, oh well.

I, for one, am glad you are able to walk away sometimes I wonder if I could. :)
